SHORT_DESC: The city of “Neretum”, now known as Nardò and its Marina today called Santa Maria al Bagno, and the respective surrounding in 272 BC. they were subjected to Roman domination. It was the Romans in Santa Maria al Bagno who built the “Emporium Nauna” port at the service of the city of Neretum. It was a fishing port in particular, created to start intense trade. Being Nauna a sumptuous elegant and velvety wine it was easy to associate it with this important an historic port.
