Situated high in the hills above San Casciano dei Bagni, in a remote corner of southern Tuscany, the Sancaba vineyards benefit from cooler conditions than most of central Italy. Here pinot noir finds suitable conditions & quickdraining, calcium rich soils, which force the roots to dig deep underground, producing mineral rich wines notable for their complex aromas, rich juiciness & underlying mineral backbone.

Nose: red cherry, strawberry, forest floor, spices

Flavor/Finish: flavors of red fruits, sea bed minerality & a ripe, juicy finish

Varietal: 100% Pinot Nero

Food Pairing:

Process: 6 months in large wood vats & barriques, followed by 14 months in cement

Serving Temperature: 57 - 61 °F
