The Castello di Meleto Chianti Classico Gran Selezione is the greatest expression of our single-varietal Sangiovese. This is a limited production wine coming from individual parcels located within the Casi & San Piero vineyards. This wine has a great capacity for aging; only time will reveal its unique characteristics.
Color: intense red, almost purple
Nose: powerful & rich, with spicy balsamic notes & ripe red fruit
Flavor/Finish: enveloping on the palate; dense, but well-balanced tannins, long finish, with high intensity; dry violets, red berries, spice & an inviting earthiness
Varietal: 100% Sangiovese
Food Pairing: truffle dishes, aged cheeses, wild game, stewed meats
Process: 27 months in French oak casks; bottle aged at least 6 months
Serving Temperature: 65 - 68 °F
Alcohol: 13.5%
